Gentle, Comprehensive Care for Growing Smiles

At Rooted Dental, we believe every visit should feel like an adventure. We know that trips to the dentist can bring a few jitters, so we’ve reimagined the dental experience from the ground up.

We are a general dentist practice focused on families mainly children providing comprehensive care rooted in kindness and expertise, and currently accepting patients ages 0–16

Preventative

Regular trips to the dentist help catch small issues before they turn into big problems. Preventive care keeps smiles big, healthy, and strong.

Dental Visits + Cleanings:

During your child’s routine visit, we gently remove plaque from their teeth and check the teeth for cavities and the gums for any concerns. We also spend time educating the family on proper brushing, flossing, and nutrition.

Digital X-rays

X-rays allow us to evaluate cavities, tooth eruption, and alignment. Cavities often grow in between teeth, and X-rays allow us to see them. We utilize modern digital technology with very low radiation, typically less than what your child is exposed to during everyday activities.

Sealants

Sealants are a clear protective coating placed on the chewing surfaces of your child’s adult teeth, typically around ages 6 & 12. These teeth have deep grooves that are hard to clean; sealants are a simple, painless way to help prevent cavities. We proudly use BPA-free sealant material.

Fluoride + NanoHydroxyapitate

Fluoride has been used for decades to strengthen enamel to aid in preventing cavities. We use age-appropriate amounts for each child. Nano-Hydroxyapatite is a mineral that helps rebuild and remineralize teeth. It's a great option for families who prefer a fluoride-free approach

Treatment

Even though baby teeth eventually fall out, keeping cavities at bay is important. Baby teeth help your child chew, speak clearly, and most importantly, hold space for adult teeth. Treating cavities early prevents pain, infection, and more complex problems later on.

Silver Diamine Fluoride

SDF is a safe, quick, and painless treatment that freezes cavities in their tracks. It’s often recommended for young children or when there may be a longer time between appointments. Treated areas may darken, but it helps protect the tooth and avoid more invasive treatment.

Composite resin fillings are used to repair small cavities while matching the color of your child’s tooth. After selectively removing the decayed tooth structure, resin is placed to restore the tooth’s function and appearance. We proudly use BPA-free composites.

When decay is bigger, beyond what a dental filling can fix, we place a dental crown to protect and strengthen the tooth for years to come. Sometimes pulpotomy (baby root canal)  may be required to preserve the tooth’s pulp. With this, we remove the unhealthy nerve and place medicine to preserve the remaining pulp

If a tooth is severely decayed, has an infection, or has had severe trauma, sometimes it needs to be removed.

A spacer is a custom-made device that is placed to hold space when a baby tooth is lost too early.

Designed for Comfort & Safety

Nitrous Oxide ( Laughing Gas)

  • As the mildest form of sedation, nitrous oxide or commonly known as laughing gas, is a safe and effective option for easing anxiety and fear during your child’s dental visit. This colorless, odorless gas helps create a sense of relaxation and mild euphoria, allowing children to feel calm and comfortable throughout their treatment. However, this gas does not put your child to sleep. After the procedure, your child will receive 100% oxygen to help the effects wear off quickly. Recovery typically takes about a few minutes, and children can return to their normal activities right away with no lingering side effects.
  • A parent or legal guardian must be present in our office for this appointment. Expectant mothers are not permitted to be in the treatment room during the procedure. Please contact our office if this applies to you, as we are happy to discuss alternative options or suggestions.

General Anesthesia

  • Some children need more support to comfortably complete dental treatment, especially if they feel very anxious or require complex procedures. In these cases, general anesthesia can provide a safe and stress-free solution.
  • At Rooted Dental Studio, general anesthesia is administered by a licensed anesthesiology team that is trained in pediatric care. Your child’s comfort and safety are our priority. The anesthesiology team closely monitors your child at every stage of treatment, allowing our dental team to focus fully on their care. Our goal is to complete all required dental treatment within one appointment. For these appointments, parents are required to remain outside of the treatment room.

Emergency Care

  • Dental emergencies always seem to happen at the worst times, whether it’s sudden pain, a bumped tooth, or another unexpected dental concern. At Rooted Dental Studio, we’re ready to help when it matters most. Our goal is to ease your child’s discomfort quickly, prevent further issues, and protect their growing smile.
  • Once we learn what’s going on and gather a detailed history, our team may take X-rays or run a few quick tests to pinpoint the problem. From there, we create a personalized treatment plan and walk you through all the options, so there are no surprises. We focus on immediate relief right away, then schedule any needed follow-up care to get your child’s smile back on track safely and smoothly

Local Anesthetic

Your child’s mouth might feel numb and sore for a few hours. Keep a close eye on them so they don’t accidentally bite their lips, cheeks, or tongue. Stick to soft foods and skip hot drinks until everything feels normal again.

Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)

After nitrous, your child will bounce back quickly. Most kids are back to their usual selves in minutes and can eat, drink, and play.

Fillings

A little tooth sensitivity is normal for a day or two. Brushing gently is fine, and if the tooth feels sensitive for more than a few days, give us a call.

Crowns

Think of crowns as tiny helmets for teeth! The treated tooth may feel tender and tight at first (kind of like a tight pair of sneakers); some minor bleeding around the gum line for a few days is normal. Avoid sticky or hard foods to prevent loosening the crown. Gentle brushing helps keep the crown shining, and call us if it feels loose or uncomfortable. Brush gently, and call the office if the crown feels loose, bleeding increases, or your child experiences ongoing discomfort.

If your child is uncomfortable, over-the-counter pain medication can be used as directed to help keep them feeling their best.

Baby Root Canal (Pulp Therapy)

The treated tooth might be a little sore. Encourage your child to chew on the other side for a few days. Call us if swelling, fever, or pain pops up.

If your child is uncomfortable, over-the-counter pain medication can be used as directed to help keep them feeling their best.

Extractions

Some bleeding or oozing is normal on the first day. Have your child bite gently on gauze, avoid straws or spitting, and stick to soft foods for the first 2 days. A cold compress placed on the cheek for 10-15 minutes at a time can help with any swelling—like giving the cheek a mini ice hug!

If your child is uncomfortable, over-the-counter pain medication can be used as directed to help keep them feeling their best.

Sealants

Sealants are like invisible shields for teeth—your child can eat and drink normally. Teeth might feel a little different at first, like gum is stuck on the chewing surface of their teeth, but that’s totally normal.

Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF)

This magic liquid helps freeze cavities in their tracks. Treated spots may look darker (it’s working!), and your child can eat and drink right away unless told otherwise.

Space Maintainers

These are placeholders that keep teeth in line while adult teeth get ready to come in. Your child might feel some pressure at first. Avoid sticky or hard foods, and brush carefully around the appliance. If your child is uncomfortable, over-the-counter pain medication can be used as directed to help keep them feeling their best.

We believe dental care should feel easy and welcoming. We created a space where families can relax, kids can feel at home, and every smile is treated with thoughtful care.
